Terms and Conditions

1) Your booking is with Eddie English trading as ‘SailCork’ and ‘SailCork.com’ 

1a) It is recommended that you have your own accident/holiday insurance policy. 

2) A deposit is payable on booking 

a) For Sunshine Yachting Holidays - 25% of full fee 

b) For Distance Learning delivered online – the full fee shall be payable on booking 

c) For all other courses and trips – 15% of the full fee 

3) Your deposit is non transferrable and non-refundable.  

4) The balance of the fee shall be paid as follows: 

a) For Sunshine Yachting Holidays - at least 60 days before the scheduled departure date from Ireland. 

b) For all other courses and trips – at least 21 days before start date. 

5) Cancellation charges shall apply as follows and this includes value of vouchers : 

a) Sunshine Yachting Holidays 

i) 60 days or more before the scheduled departure date from Ireland – 25% of full fee (i.e. forfeit of deposit) ii) More than 30 days and less than 60 days before the scheduled departure date from Ireland – 70% of full fee iii) 30 days or less before the scheduled departure date from Ireland – 100% of the full fee (i.e. no refund) 

b) All other courses and trips 

i) 21 days or more before start date – 15% of full fee (i.e. forfeit of deposit) 

ii) More than 7 days and less than 21 days before start date – 70% of full fee 

iii) 7 days or less before start date – 100% of the full fee (i.e. no refund) 

6) If you book a course, trip or holiday and fail to attend or if you leave after it has started, the full fee is forfeited which includes value of vouchers

.  7) Subject to availability you may move your booking to another date and a €50 administration charge shall apply. 8) SailCork reserves the right to postpone a course, trip or holiday due to weather, operational reasons or to follow guidelines of the Irish  Government. In the event of a postponement, you will be offered an alternative date. Should that date not suit you, you may transfer  your booking to an alternative date, or another SailCork course or trip and no administration fee shall apply. 9) SailCork reserves the right to cancel a course, trip or holiday before commencement if minimum numbers have not booked or any other  reason. The client shall be offered an alternative course, or a full refund will be given. In the event of a course cancellation, SailCork shall only liable be liable up to the value of the course fee and not any consequential loss. 

10) Distance Learning courses: 

a) it is a condition of participation that the participant identifies himself/herself to SailCork either by logging in using the name under  which the booking is made or responding to a chat message or verbal request requesting identification. Failure to do this may result  in the participant being disconnected from the session, without refund. 

b) SailCork may record sessions. It is a condition of booking that the session shall not be recorded by participants. In the event of the  participant’s electronic communication failing or performing poorly, SailCork will endeavour to provide access to a recording of the  session for single use only and on the basis that is shall be viewed by the booked participant and members of his/her household only. 

c) attendees may be joined by members of the same household, without further charge, provided they use the same device.

11) SailCork Gift Vouchers: 

a) are redeemable against SailCork courses, trips and holidays as well as sales of books, charts and navigation instruments. They cannot  be exchanged for cash and are not refundable. 

b) comply with the requirements of the Consumer Protection (Gift Vouchers) Act 2019 and are valid for five years. c) when used to book courses, trips or holidays are non-transferrable and non-refundable. 

d) cancellation charges apply for all methods of payment, vouchers or otherwise, in accordance with Terms and Conditions. 

Complaints Procedure 

1) If you are unhappy with the course, please talk to your Instructor, Skipper or the Chief instructor during the course or trip. 2) If you wish to take the complaint further please contact SailCork, Fort Lisle, East Hill, Cobh, Co. 3) In the case of externally validated courses and products you may escalate a complaint to the relevant authority once the internal  procedures above have been exhausted.

4) The deadline for making a complaint is 30 days after completion of the relevant course or trip.
