5 Day Course | Irish Sailing Accredited | Level: Advanced 

The full course may be taken over 2 weekends. Start time 09:30 on the first day to 17:00 on last day. Begins and ends at East Ferry Marina, Cobh, Co.Cork unless otherwise stated. 

Dinghy Instructor Pre entry Test of both Sailing and Navigation skills

About this Course

You will be trained and prepared for the role of the Dinghy Instructor - which is to deliver (teach) Start Sailing, Basic Skills and Improving Skills within the ISA Small Boat Sailing Scheme. 

You will be trained and prepared for the role of Powerboat Instructor including being able to deliver ISA Introduction to Powerboating and ISA National Powerboat Certificate Courses in open power driven boats.

Course duration : 4 days

Pre requisites: Powerboat level 2 cert, submit a log of driving experience; VHF radio licence, 1st Aid, Safeguarding 1 and Pre entry cert, min age 19.

About this course

The 1 day assessment ensures that you have the pre-requisite skills and knowledge necessary to teach up to National Powerboat Certificate.  Demonstrate competency in operation and background knowledge of planing powerboats, both console and tiller outboards. 

Achieve the IS Pre-Entry standard to allow you to go on to attend the IS Powerboat Instructor course. 

About this course

Starting on Wed evening Jan 5th 2021 for 16 weeks, Eddie English and the SailCork team will deliver our popular RYA Day skipper Shorebased Navigation course in a blended format. The syllabus will be taught online using a mix of videos, presentations and interactive tutorials on Zoom. We will use Google Classroom to deliver and monitor course material.  Classes are recorded if you miss one. Time 19:30-22:15.
