Book your course 

Receive joining instructions

Begin by watching the 1 hour theory class online,followed by answering some questions . This is emailed in your joining instructions. 

Attend and enjoy your course for 2 days 10:00-17:00. The course is held at East Ferry Marina, Cobh, Co.Cork, P24 D681. Check out directions in advance. Free parking.

Wear weather appropriate gear.  Essential to bring waterproof jacket and trousers, boots.  Hat, Sunblock to protect against windburn. 

Bring a packed lunch and plenty to drink.  Tea/Coffee available at the base. 

On completion of your course, you will receive your certification uploaded in your SailCork personal online account.

About Level 1+2 courses

We run both levels over the same weekend.  

Level 1 course is for those new to Powerboating : This course is aimed at building skills from scratch .This includes training on how to crew a boat as well as covering basic driving (helming) skills. Skills covered are basic boat preparation, assist launch & recovery, low & high speed manoeuvres, anchoring & docking, basic weather, safety. Personal & crew safety.

Level 2 course is for those with experience driving (not crewing) a Powerboat with approx 20 hours logged. This must be submitted in advance of attending the course. Boat preparation, launch & recovery, low speed manoeuvres,stopping, reversing, turning, picking up a mooring, anchoring & docking, towing, high speed manoeuvres, basic navigation, weather & coastal knowledge, rules and safety. Man overboard recovery.  Personal and crew safety. Includes endorsements for planing, outdrive, outboard, console control and tiller control.
